Guest Post: Social Media Top Tips

Hello Earlybirds! I’m Paighton Millington – The Lazy Mamma (thelazymamma.com) I am a lifestyle, parenting and food blogger, as well as an Entrepreneur, whilst overall on a weight loss journey. Today I want to share with you some of my social media top tips. I hope you find them useful!

Social Media Top Tips

On your Facebook page/profile/whichever one you use to promote your blog, aim to post at least 1-2 times a day (you can schedule posts for your page at the beginning of the week/day so then you’re not having to do it at the actual time you want it posted if you’re going to be busy) Unfortunately, Facebook are rather sneaky, and hardly anyone will actually see your posts, so the more you post each day, the more people will see it. The peak time for posting on Facebook is between 1-4pm.

If you’re going to be using Instagram and Twitter as well, aim to post on that also 1-2 times a day – any time is good as they’re not as sneaky as Facebook – yet! A key thing for Instagram is to use hashtags (e.g #thelazymamma) This is how people who aren’t following you will see your posts. The more hashtags you use, the more it will get noticed. Plus, if you get a good amount of ‘likes’ then more people will see it in searches. You can also schedule Instagram posts if you’re going to be busy during the day. There is an app called ‘Latergramme’ which enables you to do this.

Try to post on your blog at least once a month, but more if you can. Depending on what platform you use to run your blog site, you can also write blog posts and schedule them in advance.

Post Ideas

Posting 1-2 times a day can be hard, especially if you start to run out of ideas on what to

post. Hopefully somethings from my list will help…

 Tips

• Your blog links

• Questions/Polls

• Good content from other bloggers/pages you like

• Offers/Discounts (where applicable)

• Competitions/Giveaways

• Events

• Testimonials

• Videos

• Interesting facts

• Sneak peak photos

• Recommendations for pages/blogs

• Day to day photos

My main tip is not to put too much pressure on yourself, if you miss a day – that’s fine. I try and not miss more than one day but I have easily missed more before now. Just enjoy sharing who you are and what you do.
